New Years Wishes

As each new year begins, we can’t help but wonder what the future will hold for us. Some people consult specialists in astrology, palmistry, the tarot, or phrenology (the study of the bumps on one’s head) to gain insight into character and behavior. So in keeping with this theme, this month’s quiz will test your knowledge of the terminology used by these four studies. Look at each of the following sentences and determine which kind of analysis it represents. Answers are here.

1. Strength reversed makes the subject feel out of control.
2. A triangle in the mount of Mercury shows quickness of mind and shrewdness.
3. If the subject displays strong Perceptive faculties as well as a strong Constructiveness, this allows him or her to devise brilliant tactics.
4.A slight separation between the beginning of the life line and head line shows an independent nature.
5. When Venus is retrograde, one shouldn’t get married or make any major financial commitments.
6. A wavy Mercury line indicates a need for advice and reassurance.
7. With Saturn in the fifth house the subject will take a serious approach to playful things and it is hard for him or her to lighten up.
8. The upright Sun promises a good marriage and success in all that the subject does.
9. The Benevolence organ may be rather neutral and the Veneration, depressed.
10. The Page of Cups brings a message of romance and cooperation.
11. Lawyers require the mental-vital temperament to give them intensity of feeling and clearness of intellect; they need a large Eventuality to recall law cases and decisions; also large Comparison and large Language to give discrimination and freedom of speech.
12. Having no fire signs means that it is hard for the subject to assert him- or herself or maintain enthusiasm.
13. The quincunx has a stop-and-go energy that creates false starts and frustration.
14. Chains on a line muddy the waters and show a period of confusion.
15. Ideality is located above and behind Constructiveness. Ideality plus weak Perceptive faculties show a quest for immaterial beauty such as literature or poetry.
16. A radial loop in Jupiter is a sure sign of success and a unique outlook in life.
17. The Celtic Cross is one of the most ancient methods of doing a reading.
18. If Individuality is not very well pronounced and Causality is negative, imagination and feelings will dominate this subject’s mind.
19. Having a Grand Trine brings just enough luck to relieve the subject from feeling that he or she has to exert him- or herself and can make the person the proverbial couch potato.
20. The lesson of Temperance is to strive toward patience and balance.
